About Jeremy

I know working for a living.

Not a single current legislator punches a clock that isn't their own. I know the grind.

I have worked as a substitute teacher in Lexington 1 schools, helped businesses navigate the COVID pandemic, worked for the state Medicaid program, and currently work as a claims examiner.

A Columbia area native, I was born and raised in Forest Acres--just outside of Columbia proper. I attended schools in Richland 1, graduating from A.C. Flora High School in 2011 and earning both a BA and an MBA from University of South Carolina Aiken in 2017 and 2023, respectively.

My mom worked for Dominion Energy (formerly SCE&G) for 35 years before retiring, and my older brother went on to attend the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and serve in the U.S. Army for 20 years. In 2017, my mom and I moved to Red Bank looking for home and we found it here.

We need our lawmakers to understand what it means to be working class in South Carolina.

I have worked, and still do work, paycheck to paycheck--as do thousands of people in our district and in our state. Wages and rising but costs are rising even faster, and the Legislature has not done nearly enough to address it. From the Senate refusing to conform the state tax code to the latest federal tax code for weeks to the House refusing to suspend state gas taxes for even thirty days when the Iran war started, policy nobody asked for are now hurting South Carolina families including right here in Lexington.

Very few members of the Legislature currently punches a clock. It is time to change that. We need our lawmakers to understand what it means to be working class in South Carolina, and for that to be central to our decision making.

This community is the backbone of South Carolina, and I want to help build our future together!
